COOKIE POLICY AND SITE USAGE

This notice has been prepared in accordance with the recommendations of the Data Protection Authority as described in the “Guidelines on Cookies and Other Tracking Tools – 10 June 2021” and the “Provision on Simplified Methods for Providing Information and Obtaining Consent for the Use of Cookies – 8 May 2014.”

While browsing our web pages, to facilitate user navigation, it is possible that our web pages may include links to external websites not managed by us (e.g., search engines, third-party solution providers, etc.). The data processing policies applied by such sites are beyond our control and the protections outlined in this notice do not extend to them; our company accepts no responsibility for any personal data that may be collected there.

It is also possible to access the website without the user being required to provide any personal data.

However, the IT systems and software responsible for the website’s operation acquire, during their normal functioning, certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols, through files that are temporarily or permanently stored on your hard drive (so-called cookies) and through other software components downloaded or activated during browsing.

Detailed information on the use of cookies and consent

Definitions

Cookies are small text files (letters and/or numbers) which allow a web server to store information on the client (browser) to reuse during the same visit (session cookies) or later (persistent cookies). Cookies are saved per browser preferences on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone). Similar technologies may also be used to gather information about user behaviour and service usage.

In this document, the term “cookies” includes similar tracking technologies.

Types of cookies

Cookies are categorised by purpose and characteristics:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Essential for the proper functioning of our website, such as managing logins and access to restricted areas; they speed up, improve or personalise service delivery. These cookies may be session-based or long-lasting to recognise returning devices. Disabling them may hinder access to logged-in services but the public site remains accessible.
  • Analytical and performance cookies: Used to collect anonymous data on site traffic and usage, allowing detection of repeated visits, system monitoring, and usability enhancements. These can be disabled without loss of functionality.
  • Profiling cookies: Persistent cookies used to identify (anonymously or otherwise) user preferences to improve navigation experience and deliver targeted advertising based on users’ browsing behaviour.

Third-party cookies

Visiting a site may involve receiving cookies from the site owner (“first-party”) or from other organisations (“third parties”), such as social plugins (Facebook, Twitter, Google+), enabling content sharing on social networks. These plugins result in cookie exchanges with third-party sites. The management of data collected by third parties is governed by their privacy policies, to which users should refer.

Cookie management

Users can accept or reject cookies via browser settings.

Note: Disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect use of functionalities reserved for registered users; public content access remains possible with cookies disabled.

Disabling third-party cookies does not affect navigation. Browsers allow different settings per cookie origin (first or third party).

For example, in Google Chrome: click the wrench icon (top right), select “Settings”, then “Advanced settings”, and modify Privacy settings.

Which cookies are managed by the site

Some information, even if not collected for the purpose of being associated with identified individuals, by its very nature could—through processing or association—allow user identification.
This category includes the IP addresses of the computers used by users connecting to the Site, the URLs of requested resources, the time of the request, the size of the file obtained in response, etc.
This data is used for:

  1. obtaining anonymous statistical information on site usage (specifically, the number of accesses), to monitor proper functioning, to speed up, improve or customize the level of service provided to users, and is deleted immediately after processing.

  2. performing customer profiling activities for marketing purposes through the use of third-party cookies.

In both cases, the provision of such information is optional; refusal to provide this data, or blocking cookies or other software components, may prevent us from sending you the requested information and/or may impact the correct functioning of the site.

The data collected will be processed exclusively by authorized company personnel and will not be disclosed or communicated to other parties.

The data may be used to verify liability in the event of alleged cybercrimes against the Site or third parties; aside from this, web contact data is not stored permanently.
